Dear Waypoint Parents:
Thank you for your participation making our first week go so smoothly! We appreciate the families who have actively adhered to the 10mph speed limit and no cell phone usage campus policies. Our school is fortunate to provide an education on such a beautiful and pristine 9-acre sprawling campus and safety will always be our number one priority.
I also want to thank all the families and children who participated in the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce Ribbon cutting ceremony commemorating the opening of our beautiful playground last Friday. I am grateful for the collaboration between Waypoint staff, award-winning landscape architect Gary Kutliek, GameTime Playground expert Fred Morse, Tiny Town Studios, musician/artist Jim Doble and our very own Jose Garcia. The playground is a one-of-a-kind sensorial experience incorporating many extensions of our primary Montessori environments. Well done to all who took part in the magnificent design!
If new to the Waypoint community, I would encourage you to attend your child’s classroom Pot-Luck event and Parent Information nights. Pot-Lucks provide a wonderful vehicle to socialize with other Waypoint parents and our Parent Information nights provide a means to learn more about the Montessori method and how it applies to your child and family.
Also, we encourage everyone to attend New York Times bestselling author Carl Pickhardt’s presentation on Thursday, September 8th at 6:30pm at the Colleyville Center entitled Surviving Your Child’s Adolescents. Note that childcare will be available for Waypoint families. Dr. Pickhardt’s program provides developmental milestones and advice for parents with 8-23 yr. olds.
Thanks for such a great start!
