It’s Soiree season! What exactly does that mean? And what, exactly, will be doing at this Spring Soiree?
The annual Waypoint Spring Soiree is our largest fundraising event of the year, organized and hosted by a committee of parent volunteers. Soiree is an adult evening where parents, past parents, friends of the school, teachers and staff gather together and share a lively evening of food, fun and fundraising.
Soiree comes together after months of work by the planning committee and in the classrooms by our students, staff and parents. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Waypoint Montessori relies on donors to bridge the gap between basic expenses and excellence in education. The event is truly a community effort, raising funds in a number of ways, and we are excited for you to be involved this year!
Become a Sponsor:
Each year, amazing individuals and companies sponsor the Soiree and support the school. This year, our sponsor options and benefits are better than ever! Contact Shannon Blackwell in the front office for more information.
Buy an Event Ticket:
If you are a Waypoint parent, you recently received your Soiree invitation in the mail. Soiree is a can’t miss event! You can RSVP and purchase your tickets online or through the school’s front office. VIP tickets are available this year individually or as an entire table and include a special gift, early access to the venue, and first choice of seating.
Every ticket includes fabulous food, great music and dancing, and an open bar – a perfect Saturday night out.
Participate in Your Class Basket:
Teachers and room parents choose a theme for each classroom’s Class Basket each year. Parents in the class donate or solicit items within that theme that come together as an amazing group of goodies that are beautifully packaged and displayed before the big event. Class Baskets are a featured item in our Silent Auction and often meet or exceed the total retail value of the contents.
Place a bid at the Silent Auction:
The Silent Auction is full of practical, whimsical, fabulous items for every taste and budget. Whether you find your child’s next birthday party, that perfect piece of sports memorabilia for your father-in-law, or a day at the spa just for you – the Silent Auction is a blast to shop.
We are utilizing Mobile Bidding this year. That means you can spend your time eating, drinking, and mingling rather than guarding that sought after item. Stay on the move and bid with your smartphone. If you aren’t quite sure what to make of mobile bidding, or would prefer to use a bidding terminal – staff will be on hand to help you place your bids.
Live it up at the Live Auction:
After dessert, the Silent Auction closes, and the live action begins. We are joined by Cheri Boots-Sutton, award-winning auctioneer extraordinaire and grandmother of seven, for a fast paced, entertaining opportunity to grab up fabulous vacations, once-in-a-lifetime experiences, and the highly coveted class projects.
Class and All-School Projects:
Each year, toddler, primary & elementary guides carefully select art projects to take on with their class. Class projects are previewed a few days before the Soiree. Each student works on both their class project, as well as the all-school art project. The All-School Project is the work of every student on campus, and is assembled by the Adolescent students and a team of parents.
After all the excitement, we enjoy dancing with a top notch DJ until the babysitter’s time runs out.
It’s a party with a purpose that you won’t forget! Buy your ticket online today, or visit the front office to RSVP.
